Tis The Season

Christmas is in 3 days!! I can't believe how fast December is flying. This time of year always goes by too quickly, but I love it, especially spending it at home.

Speaking of being home, there is food galore here! Cookies, candies, chips, soda, pizza, all the junk that can be imagined! I'll be honest, keeping up with my holiday goals has been more challenging than I thought, definitely when it comes to eating.

Last night I found myself eating so much junk, not because I was hungry or because it sounded good but because it was there and everyone around me was eating.

Guys, I hate this. I hate eating just to eat but every time the holidays hit, this is what I do! Why?? I always feel sick and it’s not worth it.

So for today's topic I want to talk about food since it's everywhere around me right now! And I'm sure it's around you too.

A couple weeks ago I talked about making holiday goals and one of those goals was to get all of my servings in of fruits and vegetables before I start pigging out on the junk. Up until a few days ago I was doing really good! I really liked doing it because it helped me get full on the healthy and made less room for the unhealthy. I still ate my sweets but I didn't over consume to the point where I felt sick.

It may sound cliche but eating healthy does help. If you eat the healthy first, I promise your body will love you for it and you’ll feel more in control over what you eat.

So my goal that I'm re-challenging myself and for all of you to do this week is to eat your 5 servings of fruits and veggies before munching down on the goodies.

Let me clarify, no one is to completely cut out the goodies, just for this week I want us all to eat our 5 servings of healthy before pigging out on the junk.

Let's see if it helps you the way it helps me! Find your healthy balance!

    Ground Rules

No judging: we’re all on the same journey, just at different stages so let’s not tear each other down.
Be honest: let’s get real and let’s do it fast because we are running out of time.
Be open minded and kind: there’s no right or wrong answer (sure some may be better than others) but let’s be open to someone else’s viewpoint.

Accept responsibility: you’re an adult with personal control living in a free land; no one is forcing you to do anything. Assume responsibility for your own actions while we simultaneously work to make the whole system better.
