We’re so pumped about the 30-Day Lifestyle Program that we’re posting twice in one week! It’s very exciting, please try to contain your enthusiasm. But seriously this program is awesome and you won’t regret spending 30 days solely focused on improving your body! On Monday we mentioned that the Health Movement team is starting up the 30-Day Lifestyle Program and that we want you to join us! I want to spend a little more time explaining what this challenge is all about and I’m even including a sneak peek of what you can expect! There’s a lot of information out there about what you need to be doing to get that hot bod and be healthy. It’s an overwhelming process! We wanted to help you out, so we created a 30-Day Lifestyle Program that breaks it down for you. It includes a simple list of daily steps to make you healthier and happier. Exercise Guide In addition to these steps are complementary materials to help you achieve your Good, Better, or Best goals. The first being an exercise guide, this will help you make the most out of whatever workout you’re doing. A workout program is also included if you need to change up your routine or if you need help getting started. Nutrition Guide Another tool included in the 30-Lifestyle Program is a nutrition guide to help you make your favorite recipes healthier. A meal plan is also provided with a list of over 65 recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and desserts! The words healthy food usually has a negative connotation with people, they think they are limited to eating salads and left feeling unsatisfied and still hungry. But guess what, eating healthy can be delicious and super filling! To validate my claim we’re letting you try out one of the recipes included in the program. This savory recipe is healthy, satisfying AND a slow cooker meal for all you busy and/or lazy people out there! Happiness Guide Not only is it important to take care of your body physically, it’s just as important to take care of your body mentally. To help you accomplish this step we’ve provided a happiness guide. If you are struggling with self-esteem or having a hard time staying positive, this great tool can help. Step-By-Step Guide To Overcoming Barriers Barriers will get in the way of your goals if you let it, and this can be the most challenging part for some people. So we’ve also included a step-by-step guide to overcoming barriers. We know this lifestyle change is extremely hard, if it wasn’t you’d be doing it already. It’s going to be hard and you’ll want to quit but remember it’s only 30 days and we’ve thought of everything you’ll need to help you along the way. We’re hooking you up with everything you need to jumpstart your life, kick that booty into gear and finally start living the life you want, the healthy way! Sincerely, The Health Movement Team Many of you may have the desire to be healthy, you have the desire to eat well and exercise but there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. Whether you’re working a 60 hour week or chasing 2 kids around the house all day, there isn’t time for much else. And even on the rare occasion that you do find a little time for yourself, the last thing you want to do is run to the gym or cook a healthy meal. After all, those few free hours are your deserved time to relax. You are busy! I get it, but I want to propose an idea for you to chew on for a bit. A successful workout doesn’t always mean you have to spend an hour at the gym. A healthy diet doesn’t mean you have to limit yourself to fruits and vegetables only. I’m telling you that even a 10 minute workout can have an impact. Or replacing one snack a day with a healthy one. You want to do better but you can’t make the huge commitment to change your entire life upside down, I don’t expect you to. I want you to take a baby step, just this week. Find one thing that you’ve been struggling with and make a small goal to help you improve upon that. You have New Year’s Resolutions that you’ve made, and Health Movement wants to help you achieve those! Don’t feel overwhelmed, just use 10 minutes of your day to work towards a goal. This week your challenge is to make one single goal to improve your health. By doing this baby step you are choosing to take control of your own life and make a real change that will truly impact your health. Remember that no pill can give you the the healthy life you want, only you can do that! This is how you #FightTheFad. Go to our website Healthmovement.com to start tracking your baby steps for free! As a health professional I have mixed emotions this time of year. On one hand it’s great to see people recommit themselves to healthier living. But on the other hand it’s incredibly sad to see people fall for fads, diets, pills, drinks, juices, cleanses, and quick fixes time and time again. They pour their money into these products and false promises, but ultimately end up back where they started, and more often than not even worse. My plea for the coming year is simple, don’t do it! Fight the fads, save your money, and instead establish healthy habits that will benefit you long-term. Too many of us are waiting for a quick fix solution that will allow us to continue to live our current unhealthy lifestyle, yet reap the benefits of a healthy life. Do you see the problem with this? It will never happen. So what does work? Establishing and living a healthy lifestyle. Lasting energy and health doesn’t come from a bottle; it comes from consistent healthy living. It’s not sexy to say so, and this won’t make the front-page news, but it’s the truth. And the truth is what the public needs. They need to hear that a lifetime (or five or ten years) of neglecting their body, can’t magically be reversed in a week or month. The truth is, it’s going to be hard. You’ll experience obstacles and setbacks along the way. But don’t be discouraged by this. No one achieves success without a few, and often times many stumbles. Don’t give up, dust yourself off and keep going. If you want to achieve long-term success you’re going to have to be consistent with your health goals, not for a week or month or even 90 days, but year after year. The good news is we know what to do, and we know it’s achievable. Over the past 50 years the best scientific research has identified what habits lead to the healthiest lives. In fact we now know that by simply changing your lifestyle to include healthy habits, you can reduce your risk of obesity, premature death and all chronic disease by 80%. No that’s not a typo…read it again, 80%! Let me be absolutely clear on this, you DO NOT need to purchase anything from anyone (us included) to achieve a healthy weight and lifestyle, and reduce your risk of all chronic disease by 80%. There are many free resources out there, including our website www.HealthMovement.com, where we provide you with all the knowledge, tools and support you need to be successful. Having said that, if you want some assistance in establishing these healthy habits, there are reasonable options you can pay for to help you, such as our 30-Day Lifestyle Program. But for the love of Pete, please don’t waste your money on the aforementioned fads, diets, pills, drinks, juices, cleanses and quick fixes. They do more harm than good and only pad the pockets of disingenuous companies. For lasting health, learn and apply the health principles of proper sleep, exercise, nutrition and happiness (which include proper mental, emotional and social health). There are no short cuts. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. This year, let’s all do something different. Let’s rise above and reject all fads, diets, pills, drinks, juices, cleanses and quick fixes. They’ve never worked to establish lasting health, and they never will. You can take that to the bank! This year, save your money and your health. Choose to get healthy once and for all by focusing on establishing a healthy lifestyle. Don’t just make a resolution, make a lifestyle resolution!
